Ghana sows objects and ghosts of colonialism at the Cartier Foundation

Ibrahim Mahama's exhibition "Le Temps des récoltes" features him as the main artist alongside seven collaborators from various backgrounds. The exhibition, located at the Fondation Cartier, showcases Mahama's installations, textiles, and collages, with a significant focus on his work. One notable piece is the "Parliament of Ghosts," which consists of Ashanti stools arranged in a circle, symbolizing the historical presence of those who once occupied them before colonization. The exhibition does not represent a comprehensive view of contemporary Ghanaian art, lacking works from other prominent artists like El Anatsui and Amoako Boafo.
