Senegal "100% ready" to host the Youth Olympic Games, despite social tensions

Dakar is preparing to host the Youth Olympic Games from October 31 to November 13, marking the first time Africa will host this event. Athletes are already seen training along the city's coastline, amidst traffic. The total cost of the Games is yet to be finalized, but Senegal has allocated around 55 million euros, with an additional 80 million euros promised by the IOC. Renovations have been completed on key sports facilities, including the Olympic swimming pool and Iba-Mar-Diop stadium, funded by a loan from the French Development Agency.
