The "super El Niño" continues its progression: "It is already of unprecedented magnitude"

On October 31, Bolivia was declared in a state of emergency due to severe drought linked to the ongoing "super El Niño" phenomenon. This climate event, which began in the equatorial Pacific, is causing extreme weather worldwide, including massive fires in Indonesia and historic drought in Guyana. The current El Niño is unprecedented since the late 20th century, with significant impacts already observed, particularly in regions near the equatorial Pacific. Indonesia is experiencing severe fires exacerbated by dry conditions, leading to health hazards from toxic smoke across Southeast Asia.
