Primary school teachers in Aalst go on strike after suspicions of financial irregularities involving the director
All 35 teachers at Gaaf primary school in Aalst have stopped working due to allegations of financial misconduct by the school director. These allegations surfaced over the weekend. Some teachers anonymously accused the director of embezzling funds and using the school's bank card for personal expenses. The school has around 300 students, and parents were notified to pick up their children. Alternative supervision was arranged by other parents. GO! Dender school group is in discussions with teachers and parents, and the director will be absent until Wednesday to facilitate these talks. New proposals are expected to be presented to resolve the situation and allow teachers to return to work.
