At least ten people have died in a train accident in Spain

Two trains collided near Urda station in Spain, with a high-speed AVE train crashing into a stationary Iryo train. Initial reports suggest the AVE train hit the Iryo from behind, causing two of its cars to derail. This incident may be more severe than a previous accident in January 2026, which resulted in 46 fatalities and 292 injuries. Renfe has suspended rail services between Madrid, Ciudad Real, and Andalusia. The Spanish government canceled its scheduled programs for Wednesday due to the accident.
