It is possible that the Tiziano bought by Matolcsy for 4.5 billion is actually not Tiziano

The Hungarian National Bank launched the Értéktár program in 2014 to repatriate Hungarian artworks, preserve domestic legacies, and enhance public collections. A budget of approximately 30-32 billion HUF was allocated for this initiative. The program, which faced criticism, concluded in late 2018 with around 10.8 billion HUF spent on artworks and collections, often at high prices. Notable acquisitions included works by Mihály Munkácsy, Lajos Gulácsy, and János Vaszary. The most significant purchase was Titian's painting "Madonna with Child and Saint Paul," acquired for 4.5 billion HUF in 2015.
