Amaro Leitão: "We are a government proud of the police"

The Portuguese government ministers expressed pride in the police while avoiding questions about recent protests for housing. They emphasized the importance of rules in democracy and the need for proportionality in law enforcement. The newly inaugurated Temporary Installation Center (CIT) in Porto aims to improve conditions for foreign citizens, increasing capacity to 110 places. Despite ongoing protests since October 10, the ministers did not comment on police actions during these demonstrations, which have led to investigations by the Internal Administration Inspectorate and the Public Ministry.
