Doctors earn 2–3 million zlotys a year. Hospitals did not want to disclose data

Journalists surveyed 590 healthcare facilities to uncover salary details of top-earning doctors. Only 19 hospitals provided full responses, revealing that 213 doctors earned over one million PLN annually. Many facilities were reluctant to share information, citing various reasons, including GDPR regulations. The analysis showed that in 20 hospitals, the top five earners made over one million PLN each, with some exceeding two million. A new law proposes capping doctors' salaries at 900,000 PLN per year, aiming to address disparities in healthcare compensation. However, concerns remain about the feasibility of these limits and their impact on staffing.
