Math lessons will change dramatically. New rules starting from 2027.
The project aims to reduce algebra content in math education to allow students more time for developing reasoning skills and practical applications. Emphasis will shift towards understanding concepts and real-life problem-solving. Educational experiences will be introduced, requiring students to analyze data and manage personal finances. A foundational year will be established for first-year high school students, focusing on basic skills with four hours of math weekly. Changes will also affect the high school graduation exam, with a new format expected in 2031 for high schools and 2032 for technical schools. These proposals are still under consideration.
