Leonor Caldeira admits "summons to encompass 200 citizens"
Lawyer Leonor Caldeira, representing Renata Cambra, emphasized the significance of a recent court ruling allowing a protest camp in Rossio until November 24. The court determined that a tent used in the protest does not require camping permits and cannot be seized, marking a legal acknowledgment of the protest's legitimacy. Caldeira questioned how authorities, including the PSP and municipal governments, would respond to this ruling. She expressed readiness to mobilize citizens for further legal action if police interventions continue, asserting that the court's decision should guide future conduct. Caldeira also noted that similar peaceful protests in Porto should be treated under the same legal framework as those in Lisbon, advocating for dialogue with the state rather than further litigation.
