The United States orders the departure of some employees from their embassy in Riyadh
The U.S. State Department ordered the departure of non-essential staff and their families from its embassy in Riyadh due to increased Houthi attacks. Similar orders were issued for families of embassy personnel in the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, and Bahrain. Houthi forces have intensified hostilities against Saudi Arabia, resulting in civilian casualties and disruptions. Saudi Arabia intercepted six drones targeting its territory, with casualties reported among foreign nationals. The conflict in Yemen has escalated since July, with Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure. Explosions were also reported in Iran's Hormozgan province, marking a notable event amid reduced U.S.-Iran tensions.
