Les lobbies du tabac mettent le paquet à Bruxelles, alors que l’UE se penche sur le secteur

European Parliament members have held four times more meetings with tobacco and nicotine lobbyists in the past two years compared to the previous legislature. Since taking office in summer 2024, they reported over 400 meetings, while only about 100 were recorded during the 2019-2024 term. Most of these meetings involved right-wing politicians, with around 75% linked to the European People's Party, European Conservatives and Reformists, and far-right groups. This data was analyzed by POLITICO and sourced from the Smoke Free Partnership's transparency register.
