Lidl and WWF join forces to restore the Valado National Forest

The Mata Nacional do Valado dos Frades, a vital forest area in Leiria, suffered significant damage from Storm Kristin in January 2026, leading to increased wildfire risks. Lidl has partnered with WWF Portugal to restore 25 hectares, focusing on reducing fire hazards and enhancing ecosystem resilience. The project includes removing damaged wood, controlling invasive species, and reforesting with native plants.
