Portuguese League Against Cancer. Over 20 thousand volunteers are collecting donations again

The annual fundraising campaign by the Portuguese League Against Cancer starts today, with over 20,000 volunteers collecting donations across the country. These contributions are crucial for supporting cancer patients who face financial difficulties due to their illness. Last year's campaign raised over 2.2 million euros, aiding around 25,000 patients. The League's president, Vítor Veloso, emphasizes the need for continued support and highlights a recent study suggesting that full sick pay could positively impact the state budget. Volunteers will be present in public areas, including commercial zones and cemeteries, especially busy this Sunday for All Saints' Day.
