Limits on doctors' salaries and working hours. MPs have decided
The Polish Sejm has passed a law limiting doctors' salaries and working hours due to identified irregularities in hospitals. The law was supported by 229 MPs, while 144 opposed it and 67 abstained. It introduces restrictions on working hours, capping them at the equivalent of two full-time positions, and requires healthcare professionals to work at least half-time. Additionally, a maximum hourly rate is set at one-twentieth of the minimum wage, with monthly earnings capped at sixteen times the minimum wage. The law also enhances the control capabilities of the National Health Fund and the competencies of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tarification.
