Red line. Court corrects visa application date
The Court of Auditors revealed that the request for prior approval for the supervision contract of the red line extension was submitted by Lisbon Metro only in late July 2025. This clarification follows the company's president linking a two-year delay in the project to the lack of prior approval for supervision. During a parliamentary hearing, Cristina Vaz Tomé acknowledged issues with the red line, stating that the Court did not grant prior approval in 2024 due to the need for reprogramming expenses. The project, initially expected to finish by the end of 2025, has faced delays as the contract for supervision was only submitted in July 2025, despite earlier claims. The Metro is currently awaiting a new resolution from the government to proceed with the project.
