Lisbon. PCP advances with proposal to halt public auction of ten municipal lands

The PCP is proposing to suspend the public auction of ten municipal lands in Lisbon, aiming to redirect them for affordable housing development. João Ferreira emphasizes the need to protect municipal land to address the housing crisis. Meanwhile, the Lisbon City Council has reached an agreement with SGAL to retain land for housing projects, with a total area of over 71,500 m². The agreement includes infrastructure responsibilities for SGAL, while the Bloco de Esquerda insists on no land sales and calls for public housing. The Socialist Party supports the agreement but urges a commitment to public housing construction.
