Lisbon. Suspension of scooters discussed this Wednesday

The proposal to suspend shared scooter circulation in Lisbon will be discussed in a city council meeting, with expected approval from the ruling coalition led by Carlos Moedas. Moedas cited safety concerns, including reckless riding and improper parking, as reasons for the suspension. He plans to invest in the Gira bike-sharing system after the scooters are halted. The Socialist Party criticized the mayor's inconsistent decisions regarding scooters, while the Automobile Club of Portugal expressed support for the suspension and submitted signatures for a municipal referendum on the scooter system.
