Free, PCP and BE in the demonstrations demand rejection of the changes to the rental law

On October 24, Livre, PCP, and BE protested in Lisbon against proposed changes to the rental law, demanding more effective housing solutions. Leaders from these parties criticized the government's housing policies, calling for a reversal of measures that have increased housing costs. They emphasized the need for dialogue and concrete solutions, particularly regarding public housing and the regulation of real estate speculation. João Ferreira from PCP highlighted the importance of stabilizing rental contracts, while BE's José Manuel Pureza noted a shift in government discourse due to public mobilization. The protests aim to reject the rental law changes supported by PSD, Iniciativa Liberal, and Chega, which they argue exacerbate housing issues.
