Wage gap too large at a quarter of companies: women earn 5 percent less than men
A study by Randstad reveals that a quarter of companies in Belgium still have a significant wage gap, with women earning 5% less than men in similar roles. This disparity is particularly pronounced in management positions, where fewer women are involved in salary decisions and negotiations. In lower-level jobs, the wage gap is smaller, attributed to better representation and fairer pay systems in larger companies. European guidelines aim to address this issue by promoting salary transparency, but the implementation in Belgium has been delayed due to economic uncertainties.
