Shops in downtown Barcelona try to return to normal after Saturday's disturbances
Businesses in central Barcelona are assessing damages and losses after disturbances on Saturday resulted in broken shop windows and looting. Among the affected stores is a Pandora shop on Passeig de Gràcia, where management is evaluating necessary repairs. During the incidents, police arrested 128 individuals, including 72 minors, and firefighters responded to 33 fire outbreaks. The Catalan police are investigating the origins of the event, which was initially spread on TikTok and later organized through private Telegram and WhatsApp groups. Authorities suspect the event was not spontaneous, but the instigators remain unknown. The prosecution is considering requesting restraining orders to prevent those arrested from participating in future disturbances.
