Security forces warn of fake SMS to families for victim identification

Security forces have warned families about fake SMS messages regarding the identification of victims from a recent train accident in Urda, Toledo. The CID clarified that official notifications are made in person by the Guardia Civil, not via phone or text. Autopsy and identification efforts are ongoing, with 64 missing persons reports filed so far. Families are urged to report missing relatives and provide DNA samples to expedite the identification process, which is described as slow. The Guardia Civil has set up offices in Madrid, Córdoba, Sevilla, and Toledo for this purpose.
