The Mossos turn to the Intelligence Center against Terrorism and Organized Crime to close the Telegram channels of Blocus
The Mossos d'Esquadra have sought assistance from the Center for Intelligence against Terrorism and Organized Crime (CITCO) to shut down Telegram channels promoting thefts in Barcelona. This action follows the emergence of groups inciting robbery ahead of a planned event on October 31 under the name Blocus. CITCO has a dedicated unit for removing illegal online content, particularly related to terrorism. The Mossos have previously not used this method for addressing disturbances. After the closure of the initial group, a new channel quickly emerged but was also shut down shortly after. A third account remains active, and its closure has also been requested. CITCO's UNECI unit can expedite the removal of terrorist content, while other cases rely on voluntary cooperation from platforms.
