The other gifts that Zapatero did declare: from golden watches with emeralds to water jugs or... pieces of rock

Judge José Luis Calama rejected a request from former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero due to evidence showing certain institutional gifts were incorporated into public assets. Zapatero claimed that jewelry found in his office was strictly personal, despite receiving at least four gifts from Saudi Arabia between 2007 and 2008, including a gold desk clock and a representation of a desert scene. The official gift registry from his presidency (2004-2011) includes various items, from valuable gifts like a Tiffany crystal box to less notable ones like a clay pitcher. Additionally, 28 gifts remain unaccounted for in terms of their origin, mostly consisting of artworks without identified donors.
