TotalEnergies profits rise 75% to €18.4 billion by September

TotalEnergies reported a 75% increase in profits to $20.5 billion in the first nine months of 2026, driven by high hydrocarbon prices and refining margins. Adjusted net income rose 65% to $22.88 billion, with significant gains in refining and chemicals. Exploration and production remained the largest profit source, generating $8.96 billion, a 36% increase. LNG contributed $4.01 billion, while electricity and marketing services also saw growth. Despite a 2% decrease in hydrocarbon production, higher selling prices, particularly for Brent crude, boosted revenues. The company anticipates a production increase of over 3% in Q4 2026, with limited impact from Middle Eastern conflicts on operations.
