Lufthansa will cover any medications directly to enter TAP

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure confirmed that Lufthansa will cover any regulatory remedies required by the European Commission for its acquisition of TAP. He emphasized that the buyer is responsible for these remedies but refrained from speculating on the Commission's decisions. The Lufthansa bid of €1.201 billion for a 49.9% stake includes a commitment to invest in new assets. The Secretary criticized a parliamentary inquiry regarding TAP's financial situation, highlighting its significant debt. Lufthansa aims for annual synergies of up to €450 million with TAP and plans to increase dividend distribution. The deal is expected to finalize by early 2028.
