The Lviv Regional Council did not resolve the dispute over the UPA. Councilors speak of a stalemate

The acting head of the Lviv Regional Council, Yuriy Kholod, has not signed a resolution declaring 2027 as the year of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), despite the deadline passing. This delay may be an attempt to navigate tensions with Poland, as the resolution has sparked significant backlash from Polish authorities. The Lviv Regional Military Administration has urged council members to appeal to Kholod to refrain from signing the resolution, which they cannot legally block. Critics, including former deputy Oksana Yurynec, emphasize the need for a legal solution that considers Ukraine's relationship with Poland. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has expressed confusion over the regional authorities' actions and discussed the matter with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who indicated he would not support the resolution if it depended on him. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also criticized the resolution as harmful to Polish-Ukrainian relations.
