Péter Magyar: The government will also double the increased family allowances.

Hungary's Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced a doubling of family allowances starting in 2027, including increased support for families with chronically ill or severely disabled children. The standard family allowance, frozen since 2008, will rise from 23,300 HUF to 46,600 HUF monthly for these families, benefiting approximately 134,000 children. Single parents will see their allowance increase from 25,900 HUF to 51,800 HUF. Additionally, support for adults with disabilities will also double. The increase will apply to foster children and those in care facilities, raising their monthly allowance from 14,800 HUF to 29,600 HUF, with the same doubling for disabled children. This marks a significant change after years of stagnation in family support.
