Péter Magyar: We will remove the charitable budget of former presidents from the budget
Péter Magyar announced plans to eliminate the charitable budget for former presidents in Hungary, which allows them to donate to foundations. The government budget proposal for 2027 includes a significant allocation for these donations, despite previous promises to end such privileges. The current president and former presidents have received annual budgets since 2012 for charitable contributions, but this may change soon. Magyar emphasized that next year, former presidents will not receive this charitable budget, aligning with the government's commitment to reforming these benefits. The former presidents also retain other financial privileges, including salaries and staff support.
