Péter Magyar "wouldn't believe" that the former presidents' individual budget of 73 million forints will remain.
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar commented on a Telex article regarding the 2027 budget proposal, which includes a 73 million HUF allocation for former presidents to support civil organizations. He expressed skepticism about the report, stating that January 1 is still far off. The article noted that former presidents Schmitt Pál, Áder János, Novák Katalin, and Sulyok Tamás could continue to use this funding next year. This is not the first time Magyar has used the phrase "I wouldn't think so" in response to media reports, previously commenting on the appointment of a new editor-in-chief at M1 News, which led to the withdrawal of certain appointments by the public media leadership, citing the need to restore public trust. Magyar later clarified that he did not instruct the retraction of these appointments.
