Péter Magyar expects more than 40 foreign delegations for the 1956 commemoration

Today, over forty foreign delegations are arriving in Budapest for the 70th anniversary of the 1956 revolution, but the guest list is less impressive than expected. Prime Minister Péter Magyar had anticipated the presence of several prominent leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron. However, the French embassy later confirmed that Macron would not attend, and no other French representatives were confirmed. Responses from various European embassies indicated that only a few leaders would be present, including Đuro Macut from Serbia and Maia Sandu from Moldova. Notably, leaders of EU institutions, such as Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa, will be attending the event.
