More than 100 people protest for decent housing in Évora

Around 100 people gathered in front of Évora's City Hall to demand decent housing. Protesters expressed their frustrations about the housing crisis, highlighting the struggles of young people and older residents forced to share homes. The demonstration included a makeshift house made of cardboard boxes and featured slogans criticizing property owners and high rents. Évora's mayor showed support for the cause. This protest is part of a broader movement across Portugal addressing housing issues and the rising cost of living, which began in Porto earlier this month. Recent protests have seen violent police actions and numerous arrests, with more assemblies planned in various cities.
