Makers of 'Call of Duty' under fire in South Korea for using news footage from Halloween drama Seoul

Families of victims from a deadly Halloween event in South Korea are urging the creators of 'Call of Duty' to remove real news footage from their upcoming game. The footage depicts the tragic events of October 2022 in Itaewon, where over 150 people died due to crowd chaos. In 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4', clips showing scenes of CPR and victims being carried away are included in a fictional news bulletin related to a North Korean invasion. Survivors express shock at the use of such distressing imagery, emphasizing that it trivializes the tragedy. Activision stated they did not intend to treat the Itaewon disaster lightly, but have not yet responded to the request for removal.
