Man (34) who was hit by a train in Kalmthout and lost his leg has died

A 34-year-old man who fell under a train at Heide station in Kalmthout has died from his injuries. He was previously removed from the train by railway police. Witnesses reported that he was dragged by the train while trying to retrieve his backpack as it departed. The incident occurred around 5:15 PM, and he was critically injured, losing a leg before being taken to the hospital. The Antwerp prosecutor's office confirmed his death today.
