Man arrested in Pakistan for selling millions of fake shipping labels in the US
Faheem Akram, a 33-year-old, was arrested in Pakistan after a lengthy search for allegedly running LabelsBank, selling counterfeit shipping labels and stamps in the US. He reportedly sold over 5.1 million fake labels to more than 5,000 customers, allowing them to send packages at significantly reduced rates. Akram was charged with fraud in September, and a reward of up to $100,000 was offered for information leading to his capture. He faces up to five years for forgery and potentially twenty years for internet fraud, though it remains unclear where he will be prosecuted.
