Demonstration in Paris ends in clashes despite heavy police presence

A large protest in Paris, organized by various unions, ended in clashes between police and groups of vandals. Authorities reported around 110,000 participants, while unions claimed 250,000. Most attendees left peacefully, but some young individuals, dressed in black and masked, confronted police, leading to the use of tear gas and water cannons. The clashes began after a march that had proceeded without incident. Similar disturbances were reported in other cities like Toulouse and Marseille. The government deployed approximately 70,000 security personnel to prevent violence following previous vandalism incidents.
