Demonstrations in Germany: the left condemns the violence and calls not to overlook the demands

Violence erupted during the GenZ Regelt! protests in Germany, leading to 54 arrests and over 100 police injuries. Political leaders condemned the violence but emphasized the need to address the protesters' concerns about education, living costs, and climate change. The protests, which drew around 120,000 participants, were largely peaceful until tensions escalated in the evening. Authorities reported significant vandalism and clashes with police, particularly in Frankfurt. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt attributed the violence to leftist groups and called for severe penalties against those responsible. The GenZ Regelt! collective distanced itself from the violence and planned further mobilization.
