Mariana Vargem fourth in the Tongyeong World Cup triathlon

Mariana Vargem finished fourth at the Tongyeong World Cup triathlon in South Korea, achieving her best individual result in this competition. She completed the sprint course in 56.53 minutes, trailing the leader by 30 seconds after the swimming segment but managed to recover and stay competitive during the cycling phase. Despite leading until the last 600 meters, she ultimately fell short of the podium. The race was won by China's Xinyu Lin in 56.42 minutes, followed by compatriot Anqi Huang and France's Mathilde Gautier. Vargem's performance marks a significant improvement, moving her up in the Olympic ranking.
