Emergency room doctors will support external emergencies in pressure situations
Internal emergency doctors will assist external emergencies during high-pressure situations, as mandated by a new health ministry directive. This measure aims to enhance coordination between internal and external emergency services in hospitals, particularly during exceptional patient influxes and increased waiting times. Financial incentives for additional work were introduced earlier this year, initially excluding internal emergency doctors, who are now included. The directive emphasizes the need for collaboration based on patient needs and clinical safety, while ensuring that doctors' specialties and competencies are respected. Hospital administrations must adapt their internal procedures to comply with these new rules within 60 days.
