Meet the front-runners to replace Lagarde

The competition to succeed Christine Lagarde at the European Central Bank intensifies as she plans to leave in February. The frontrunners are Pablo Hernández de Cos from Spain, known for his calm approach, and Klaas Knot from the Netherlands, who has a more complex history. A Bloomberg survey shows de Cos slightly ahead with 12 votes compared to Knot's nine. The final decision will be made by EU leaders, influenced by national interests and other ECB positions.
