The 1st block of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant is operating at 50 percent due to a malfunction
The Paksi Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 1 is currently operating at 50% capacity due to a generator protection incident at 8:02 AM. Recent low water levels in the Danube have also impacted operations, forcing the shutdown of seven out of eight turbines. On October 13, the lowest water level was recorded, but a newly constructed threshold helped raise the water level by 61 centimeters, preventing production restrictions. The plant did not comment on any connection between the turbine failure and the water levels.
