The court has extended Miklós Seszták's detention

The Budai Central District Court has extended the detention of Miklós Seszták, a KDNP representative, until January 30 due to ongoing investigations into bribery and other crimes. The National Asset Recovery and Asset Protection Office requested the extension citing risks of flight and evidence tampering. Seszták is implicated in a bribery case involving Volánbusz, allegedly receiving over 11 billion HUF in illegal benefits between 2015 and 2018. His parliamentary immunity was revoked on September 28, and he was arrested shortly after. The Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office confirmed that they conducted covert surveillance without needing judicial approval, asserting legal grounds for their actions.
