We received the contracts: they could "work" at Ruszin-Szendi's service villa for an hourly wage of 300,000 forints
After over a year of litigation, documents related to the former service villa of Ruszin-Szendi Romulusz were obtained from HM EI Zrt. The property gained attention after Ruszin-Szendi appeared at the Tisza Party, prompting government scrutiny. An investigation was initiated based on a report of alleged abuse of office by former Fidesz MP Budai Gyula. The Government Control Office previously revealed extravagant purchases related to the villa, but did not investigate the larger construction costs. Nineteen construction contracts were acquired, showing that the contracts were signed by the CEO of HM EI Zrt. and that Ruszin-Szendi was not involved in the construction process. The actual costs exceeded initial estimates significantly, with instances of twenty-fold overpricing found. Contrary to earlier beliefs of purchasing a semi-finished house, it was revealed that HM EI Zrt. spent an additional 650 million HUF on a nearly completed house.
