An astonishing thing happens to our body during half an hour of sauna.
Finnish researchers have found that a single sauna session can significantly boost the immune system by increasing white blood cell counts. A study published in the journal Temperature revealed that 30 minutes in a sauna raised the number of vital immune cells in the bloodstream. This increase in white blood cells, including neutrophils and lymphocytes, enhances the body's defense against pathogens. The study involved 51 participants who experienced a temporary rise in immune cells, although most of this increase subsided after 30 minutes. The findings suggest that sauna bathing elicits physiological responses similar to exercise, positively impacting cardiovascular health and immune function.
