They have solved the major problem of solar panels, so they can now be cheap and efficient at the same time
Recent advancements in perovskite solar cells have highlighted their efficiency and low production costs, but their lifespan remains a concern. Researchers from the Korean Institute of Energy Research have developed a solution to enhance durability by removing harmful lithium ions using a nickel oxide catalyst. This new method not only maintains high energy conversion efficiency but also achieves a performance of 25.24%, surpassing traditional cells. Testing showed that these improved cells retained 95% efficiency after 1000 hours, indicating a significant increase in longevity compared to previous models. The findings were published in Advanced Science.
