They attempted to retroactively terminate the contract that led to the arrest of György Matolcsy

Last year, a contract involving the transfer of shares from an MNB foundation to a private equity fund was retroactively terminated. The agreement was signed by Stofa György and Valkó Mihály, but the foundation later decided to manage the tasks independently. The contract, which was set for five years, would have allowed the private equity fund to gain ownership rights over the shares. Following leadership changes at the MNB, the contract was annulled, citing the foundation's desire to handle the responsibilities itself. Recently, former central bank governor Matolcsy György was arrested in connection with this case, along with others involved. The court has issued international arrest warrants for Matolcsy Ádám and Stofa György, who are currently not in Hungary.
