The paper-based motorway vignette will be abolished in Austria

Starting December 1, ASFINAG will discontinue the sale of physical highway stickers in Austria, transitioning to a fully digital toll payment system by January. Drivers will need to purchase digital stickers via ASFINAG's website or app, although payments can still be made at gas stations and other locations. The price of stickers will increase by 2% from January 1, with the annual sticker costing €108.90 instead of €106.80. However, those who buy the digital sticker for 2027 by the end of this year can do so at the current price. Pre-sales will begin in November.
