A wild elephant disrupted the Hindu religious procession, and the devout worshippers, just to be safe, stole the goddess's gold bracelets.

An elephant caused chaos during a Hindu religious event in Karnataka, India, by running amok while carrying a heavy statue of the goddess Chamundeshwari. The elephant, named Somanna, became agitated, possibly due to the crowd or the excessive weight of the statue, which was 200 kg over the recommended limit. As a result, it damaged several vehicles and buildings, and the statue's transport structure fell off its back. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but six out of eight gold ornaments that were part of the statue's ritual were lost during the incident.
