The schedule for the Belgrade express has been confirmed
On December 13, a new train schedule will officially launch express train services between Belgrade, Budapest, and Vienna, as announced by Ljubiša Pejičić, acting director of Srbija voz. While they are ready to start the routes, the Hungarian side requested further checks due to over 90 railway crossings in Hungary, unlike Serbia's section which has no level crossings. Tickets are expected to cost 35 euros to Budapest and 43 euros to Vienna, with a planned discount period for initial ticket sales. The Budapest-Belgrade railway construction is the largest railway development in Hungary, funded by a secret Chinese loan and involving Chinese contractors. The project has faced delays due to issues with the safety system, although freight trains are already operating with speed restrictions.
