Mexico wants to know if cartel members are fighting in Ukraine to gain drone knowledge
The Mexican government is investigating the potential involvement of drug cartel members in the Ukraine conflict, sparked by a video showing armed men claiming affiliation with Mexican cartels. President Sheinbaum stated they aim to uncover how these individuals became involved in the European armed conflict, possibly through recruitment by private companies or governments. Reports suggest cartel members may be seeking drone warfare expertise, particularly in using first-person view drones, which are increasingly utilized in Mexico for drug smuggling and attacks. The U.S. has recently imposed a drone ban at the Mexico border to combat smuggling. Russia claims that over eighty Mexicans have been identified as gaining combat experience in Ukraine, although Ukraine has not commented on these allegations.
